Dear Beloved, that your child is not a ‘Kid’; he[she] is a Child!

Isn’t he[she] wonderful and beautiful to listen to, and to have around. I am certain he[she] often help you break a smile when he[she] curls on your side.

That is what children do best to their parents:

They have a soft and gentle way of making the burden of adulthood irrelevant. They’re without worries. They stress for nothing; but hopeful for all good things to come. They are literally full of life.

No wonder they are God’s precious Gift to our world; to further remind us adulthood, and forming maturity with Him, is not getting the job done.

How then can these adoring Gifts be wrongfully and subtly called ‘Kids’. It’s absurdity!

But I know it’s not intentional parents refer to their God given heritage by this heinous slang/informal word, that shares meaning with an animal.

Perhaps they haven’t taken cognizant of the power inherent in names individuals are called or referred to — they are destiny defining. Names often have stronghold on the individual — to the extent of shaping this individual’s attitude and the attributes they possess.

Ask Jacob, the Supplanter. Ask Jabez, the accursed, that makes sorrowful. Ask David, the beloved. Ask Abraham, the Father of ‘Multitude’ and Sarah, the Noble woman.

My friend, If God would change the name of Abram to Abraham, Sarai to Sarah, and Jacob to Israel — and they all went on to fulfill purpose — then this only means God places utmost importance in the names we are called for the actualization of our individual purposes.

More, if an English Proverb — dated back since 18th century — could literally said: ‘give a dog a bad name and hang it’. Wouldn’t it say more of a Child that proceeded from your own loins.

Please don’t let wrong names/slang rob you of your glorious destiny. Even more importantly, don’t rob that your wonderful child of his or her glorious destiny by the heinous names you call him or her. It is ‘criminal’ before God my friend!

Henceforth please consciously unlearn all heinous ‘destiny-verdict’ you subtly pass upon your child, in the name of Civilization, ‘Cute Slang’ or that which is en-vogue.
