My friend you don’t have to be weary. You don’t have to be heavy laden and you don’t have to be stressed. There are better ways to do the works you do. You just need to find them out!
You are weary not because there is no better way of performing the chores you do, neither is it because there are no prudent ways of handling the responsibilities you shoulder; but because you have not taken time out to seek counsel on the better way to go:
Moses was a man of like passion as you are. He was heavy burdened with too much responsibilities — that of a rebellious Nation — which would have broken him down if he wasn’t shown the better way to carrying out his ‘chores’.
Hear this: ‘And Moses’ father in law said unto him, The thing that thou doest is not good. Thou wilt surely wear away, both thou, and this people that is with thee: for this thing is too heavy for thee; thou art not able to perform it thyself alone…’ [Read the full account in Exodus 18:14-26].
Furthermore, you are stressed not because there is no help or support available to you, but because you have ‘refused’ to identify or call unto the right support/help you need per time:
Peter and his colleagues were men of like passion as you are. They initially forgot the presence of the Master in their Boat; and they became greatly perturbed for the bellowing Tempest that threatens to sink their boat, not until they called unto the Prince of Peace for help. [Read full account Mark 4:35-41].
Beloved, it is possible to live a stress-free life. Yes it is, and yes you can!
If any man has the key to a door, he does not need ‘elephant-strength’ to open this door: So in the same vein, you don’t need to stress over anything once you know the better means to getting the job done.
Henceforth my friend, examine the works you do and seek a better way to doing them. And most especially, let the Lord give you rest from all your labour and your heavy burden. Come unto Him today! (Matthew 11:28)
Very well said Sir. I remember the hymn below:
“Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care
Precious Saviour, still our refuge
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.”
And also the verse below:
“For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.”
Hebrews 4:10 NKJV
Lord, help us to know that you are always available to help!
